Kansas guard Ochai Agbaji is the Big 12 Men’s Player of the Week
Kansas guard Ochai Agbaji is the Big 12 Men’s Player of the Week, which was announced on Monday.
In addition, Iowa State guard Gabe Kalscheur was named the Big 12 Newcomer of the Week.
This is the second weekly award of the season for Agbaji, who was the Big 12 Player of the Week on the season’s opening week. Kalscheur earned his second Big 12 Newcomer of the Week award. He was also the Big 12 Player of the Week on Nov. 29.
Agbaji led the Jayhawks to an undefeated week and a move up to No. 7 in the AP Top 25 on Monday.
Agbaji scored 22 points against Iowa State and 20 against West Virginia last week, draining four 3-pointers in each contest and shooting 50 percent from distance for the week. He also tied his season high of seven rebounds in both games.
Kalscheur averaged 18.0 as Iowa State went 1-1 last week. He made a season-high six 3-pointers in the Cyclones’ win over Texas, and then four in their loss to Kansas. Against Texas he posted 22 points, and against Kansas he scored 14.
