Oklahoma’s Skylar Vann is Big 12 Women’s Player of the Week
Oklahoma’s Skylar Vann is the Big 12 Women’s Basketball Player of the Week after helping the Sooners to a 2-0 week and No. 14 national ranking.
Texas guard Rori Harmon was named the Big 12 Women’s Freshman of the Week.
This is the first time Vann has earned Player of the Week honors. This is Harmon’s third Freshman of the Week honor.
Vann came off the bench in both of the Sooners’ victories last week, scoring a career-high 22 points in the Sooners’ win over Baylor, and then 20 points in the Sooners’ win over TCU. For the week, Vann averaged 21 points, 6.5 rebounds, two assists and two steals while shooting 53.6 percent from the floor.
Harmon averaged 9.5 points, nine rebounds, five assists and three steals for the week as Texas went 1-1 and is in a tie for No. 15 in the AP Top 25 with Baylor. She nearly had a triple-double in the Longhorns’ overtime loss to Kansas, and she scored 11 points, grabbed nine rebounds and had five steals in the Longhorns’ win over West Virginia.
