Texas Leads Four Big 12 Teams in D1Baseball’s Preseason Top 25

One month from today, on February 18th, college baseball returns. The wackiness of the 2021 season still resonates, with Mississippi State getting its first national championship school history, by way of defeating the defending-champion Vanderbilt Commodores in a three-game series.
Texas, who was defeated in the College World Series semifinals by the Bulldogs, is the favorite to hoist the trophy in 2021. In fact, the Longhorns are ranked No. 1 for the first time ever in D1Baseball history (site started in 2015). The Longhorns bring back several pieces from last year’s team that went 50-17, including pitchers Tristan Stevens and Tanner Witt.
The Longhorns are joined by three more teams from the Big 12, with Oklahoma State at No. 7, Texas Tech at No. 14, and TCU at No. 17. The Big 12’s four teams in the D1Baseball Top-25 is the third-most of any conference, behind only the SEC (8) and the ACC (6).
