One of Oklahoma State’s top players has hit the transfer portal as a graduate transfer.
Cornerback Jarrick Bernard-Converse entered the portal on Thursday morning, according to multiple reports.
Bernard-Converse started 47 games in four seasons with Oklahoma State He had a team-high 11 pass breakups this past season to go along with 51 tackles and 1.5 sacks.
He was a senior in 2021, but has a year of eligibility remaining because of the pandemic.
This is a huge loss for the Pokes, because if Bernard-Converse ultimately leaves, the Cowboys will have to replace both cornerbacks next season since Christian Holmes has exhausted his eligibility.
Bernard-Converse was a member of the 2018 recruiting class and as a player ranked outside the Top 1,000 in the country is another classic example of Mike Gundy’s staff finding overlooked players who turn into top-performers in the Big 12.
Expected favorites to be the starting cornerbacks in 2022 are Korie Black and Jabbar Muhammad, but other names to watch are De’kelvion Beamon, Jordan Reagan, Cam Smith, Kale Smith and Demarco Jones.
