Former USC QB Jaxson Dart Picks Ole Miss Over Oklahoma

NCAA Football: Mississippi at Tennessee

The Oklahoma Sooners have missed out on former USC QB Jaxson Dart.

According to multiple reports, Dart is transferring to Ole Miss. Dart took over as the starter at USC after Kedon Slovis was injured and threw for 1,353 yards, nine TDs and five interceptions in 2021.

Dart may have realized his path to being the starter was easier at Ole Miss, since the Oklahoma Sooners landed UCF transfer Dillon Gabriel, who knows Oklahoma OC Jeff Lebby from his time with the Golden Knights.

Dart is now the presumed starter entering the 2022 season as the Rebels attempt to follow up the first 10-win regular season in school history. He becomes the second big-time transfer for Lane Kiffin’s squad, joining former TCU running back and five-star recruit Zach Evans.

Less than two weeks ago, Dart posted a photo that went viral with Kiffin and his Aston Martin. Did that seal the deal? Probably not. But it didn’t hurt.

The biggest question in the transfer portal still remains former Oklahoma QB Caleb Williams. He was once considered a lock to join his former head coach Lincoln Riley at USC, and they’re still big favorites, but recent reports have indicated other programs may have a chance to land the coveted former five-star prospect.
