Ayoka Lee One of 3 Big 12 Women on Wooden Award Watch List

Ayoka Lee, Ashley Joens and NaLyssa Smith are the Big 12 players women’s players on the Wooden Award Women’s Top 20 Late Season Watch List, given to the nation’s best women’s college basketball player.
The Wooden Award committee released the watch list on Monday.
Lee, Joens and Smith are all competing for the Big 12 Player of the Year Award for this season.
Lee leads the Big 12 and ranks second in the nation in scoring average with 25 points per game and leads the Big 12 in field-goal percentage at 58.2 percent. She also leads the Big with 3.2 blocks per game and has 14 double-doubles this season. She also set the NCAA Division I record for most points in a game earlier this season with 61 against Oklahoma.
Joens leads Iowa State with 20.1 points and 9.3 rebounds per game. She also has 46 assists and 18 steals as the Cyclones prepare to meet the Wildcats for the second time this season on Wednesday. Iowa State won the first meeting.
Smith, the defending WBCA National Player of the Year, is averaging a double-double this season — 20.3 points and 11.4 rebounds per game. She is the reigning Big 12 Player of the Year and the reigning Katrina McClain Award winner.
