The Kansas Jayhawks will be without their top scorer tonight when they travel to Iowa State for a Top-20 showdown with the Cyclones.
According to a report from CBS Sports’ Jon Rothstein, Kansas guard Ochai Agbaji did not travel with the team to Iowa State due to COVID protocols.
With Agbaji out, the Jayhawks will have to lean on Christian Braun and David McCormack for production. Braun is second on the team with 15.2 PPG, topped only by Agbaji with 20.9 PPG. McCormack, who is playing at less than 100% according to Bill Self, will have to find a way to be more of a factor inside than he was against Kentucky.
Agbaji’s FG% of 51.38 is good for 14th nationally among guards and will be hard to replace against a stingy Iowa State defense.
Tipoff is scheduled for 6:00 in James H. Hilton Coliseum and will be televised on ESPN. The Jayhawks are currently favored by 2.5 points, although the loss of Agbaji could prove to be a big problem against the Cyclones.
