Baylor Football: 2022 Recruiting Class Rundown

Kaian Roberts-Day leads the recruiting haul signed by the Baylor Bears for the 2022 football recruiting class.

The Bears signed a class that featured two four-star recruits. Roberts-Day, a 6-foot-4, 240-pound athlete out of Festus High School in Festus, Missouri. Roberts-Day played tight end in high school and was pursued by two other Big 12 schools, Oklahoma State, and Kansas before he committed to the Bears.

The Bears also signed Tulsa transfer Jaxon Player, who is a four-star transfer and will immediately make an impact on Baylor’s defensive line. Listed at 6’0″ 285-pounds, Player was recruited hard by TCU, Oklahoma, and Oklahoma State before landing with the Bears.

Also highlighting the class is Lewisville, Texas, wide receiver Armani Winfield, who had nearly 2,000 receiving yards in his senior year of high school.

The rest of Baylor’s class is filled with three-star players, per 247Sports.com. The next-highest ranked player in the class is offensive lineman George Maile, who plays for Bingham High School in South Jordan, Utah. At 6-foot-4, 290 pounds, Maile was pursued by USC, TCU, Boise State, BYU, and California, among other schools.

 

The Bears, led by head coach Dave Aranda, finished the 2021 season with a 12-2 record and a Big 12 Championship. Baylor capped off the season by defeating Ole Miss 21-7 in the Allstate Sugar Bowl.
