Earlier this week, it was reported that Kansas head basketball coach Bill Self was “optimistic and hopeful” that Kansas senior guard Ochai Agbaji would be available for Saturday’s clash against Baylor.
Agbaji missed KU’s game against Iowa State on Tuesday due to COVID protocols, but it appears that the Jayhawks will have their best player available on Saturday with first place in the Big 12 on the line.
According to Jesse Newell of the Kansas City Star, Agbaji has been cleared through Big 12 protocols to play against the Bears tomorrow afternoon.
This is fantastic news for KU, as they will need to be as close to full strength as possible to take down the reigning national champions. Agbaji leads the Big 12 with 20.9 ppg and is shooting 51.5% from the field, which is good for second among Big 12 guards.
Tip off between the 8th-ranked Bears and No. 10 Kansas is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. on Saturday and will be televised by ESPN.
