Nijel Pack Claims Big 12 Men’s Player of Week Honors
Kansas State guard Nijel Pack won the Big 12 Men’s Player of the Week award for the first time this season, which was announced on Monday.
In addition, TCU guard Damion Baugh was named the Big 12 Newcomer of the Week.
This is the second time in the last three weeks that Pack has been the Big 12 Player of the Week. This is Baugh’s first Newcomer of the Week award.
Pack helped K-State beat Oklahoma State and TCU last week, scoring at least 20 points in both games. He averaged 21 points on 59.3 percent shooting, including 53.8 percent from 3-point range, along with 3.5 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 3.5 steals.
One of those 3-pointers gave the Wildcats a win over Oklahoma State with two seconds remaining. Pack then had a game-high 20 points in the win at TCU. He also had a game-high four steals.
Baugh averaged 18.5 points and six rebounds during a 1-1 week for TCU. He scored 20 points and grabbed a career-high eight rebounds in a 72-63 win at Oklahoma. He then scored 17 points in the loss to Kansas State.
