Watch: Patrick Mahomes Welcomed Back to Texas Tech
The NFL season is over and now it’s time for the biggest stars to kick back, maybe head to a tropical island, or if you’re Patrick Mahomes, go back to Texas Tech and take in a Red Raiders basketball game.
Texas Tech hosted Baylor on Wednesday night, in a match up between the No. 11 team in the nation against the No. 7 team in the country. And Mahomes, being a sports fan who now has more down time, wasn’t going to miss this one.
Mahomes had a mid-court seat with his fiancé Brittany and got a raucous ovation from the Lubbock faithful.

Tech fans were fired up to welcome back their most famous alumni, who has won an MVP, Super Bowl ring and Super Bowl MVP.
As for the football program, it’s in a rebuild under Joey McGuire, but he has already crushed it on the recruiting trail in a short period of time. McGuire added another four-star prospect to his 2023 class this week and has brought an enthusiasm to Tech football fans that probably hasn’t been there since the Mike Leach era. But of course, winning on the field will ultimately determine McGuire’s fate in Lubbock. But so far, he’s off to an impressive start.
