The Oklahoma State Cowboys were scheduled to take on Central Michigan in their 2022 season opener on September 3, but that game has been rescheduled.
Instead, the Cowboys and Chippewas will play on Thursday, September 1, to open up the 2022 season. This will be the first time Oklahoma State will play a game on Thursday since opening up the 2018 season against Missouri State.
Oklahoma State is 11-0 in Thursday games under Mike Gundy, including 8-0 in regular-season games.
Although the game has been rescheduled, kickoff time and television information have yet to be determined and will be released at a later date.
Oklahoma State will look to build on a 2021 season that saw them go 12-2 and appear in the Big 12 Championship against the Baylor Bears. The Cowboys also capped off their season with a Fiesta Bowl win over Notre Dame in the first-ever meeting between the two programs.
On top of hosting Central Michigan to open the season, OSU will also host Arizona State and Arkansas Pine Bluff in the non-conference schedule, meaning that Oklahoma State won’t hit the road until they open up conference play against Baylor on October 1.
As for their home conference games, the Cowboys will host Texas Tech (Oct. 8), Texas (Oct. 22), Iowa State (Nov. 12), and West Virginia (Nov. 26).
