Four-Star DB Ryan Yaites Puts Texas Tech in Top 4

Texas Tech continues to surpass expectations on the recruiting trail in 2023, and it looks like they’re in a great position to add to their success yet again as four-star defensive back Ryan Yaites has released a “Top Four” that includes California, Michigan State, LSU, and Texas Tech.
The 6-1 175-pound safety out of Denton, Texas is rated as the eighth-best safety recruit in the country and the 25th-best player in the Lone Star State.
Here is the list that was dropped on Twitter on Sunday evening.
During his senior year, Yaites recorded 42 tackles, an interception, and eight PBU’s, helping lead his team to the 6A-2 State Championship. His addition to the 2023 class would be big for Joey McGuire, who has seemingly made Lubbock a destination for top talent in next season’s cycle. The Red Raiders have the nation’s second-ranked class in 2023, according to Rivals, and are looking to take a shot at the top spot with their 14th commitment.
Steve Wiltfong, the Director of Recruiting at 247Sports, feels confident that the Red Raiders are firmly in the lead for Yaites’ services and went as far as putting in a Crystal Ball prediction for TTU. Wiltfong has an all-time accuracy of 91.22% (3326/3646) of predicting where players will land, hence why his predictions are almost taken as gospel and are referred to as being “Fong’d.” Long story short, his prediction for Yaites heading to Lubbock is a good sign for Red Raider Nation.
