Ochai Agbaji, Izaiah Brockington Share Big 12 Men’s Player of Week
Kansas guard Ochai Agbaji and Iowa State guard Izaiah Brockington shared the Big 12 Men’s Player of the Week award, which was announced on Monday.
In addition, Texas Tech forward Bryson Williams was named the Big 12 Newcomer of the Week.
This is the fourth time this season that Agbaji has been named player of the week, and the second time that he’s shared the award with another player. This is Brockington’s third player of the week award, and the second time he’s shared the honor. He also has two newcomer of the week honors. This is the second time that Williams has been named newcomer of the week.
Brockington averaged 21 points last week as the Cyclones went 2-0, beating TCU and Oklahoma. He also averaged 4.5 rebounds, two steals and 1.5 assists. He has scored 20 or more points in each of his last three games.
Agbaji averaged 21.5 points last week as Kansas beat Oklahoma State and West Virginia. He has now scored 20 or more points in 14 games this season, including both games last week. He also went 13-of-14 from the free throw line in those two games and passed the 1,400-point mark for his career.
Williams scored 17 points in each of Texas Tech’s victories over Baylor and Texas last week and is now four points shy of 2,000 points for his college career. Williams is averaging 13.7 points this season and has 100 double-figure scoring performances in his career.
