Texas Tech’s Vivian Gray is Big 12 Women’s Player of the Week
Texas Tech’s Vivian Gray is the Big 12 Women’s Basketball Player of the Week after leading the Lady Raiders to a 1-1 week.
In addition, Texas guard Rori Harmon was named the Big 12 Women’s Freshman of the Week.
This is Gray’s first Big 12 Player of the Week honor for the season, but the fourth of her career. This is Harmon’s fourth freshman of the week honor, the most of any Big 12 freshman this season.
Gray averaged 29 points, five rebounds, three assists and 2.5 steals last week, including a 97-87 Lady Raider win over No. 15 Oklahoma. Gray had 35 points against the Sooners and surpassed the 2,000-point mark for her career. She scored 23 points against Kansas Saturday.
Harmon led Texas with 19.5 points in two wins. In the win against No. 6 Iowa State, she had 20 points, six rebounds, nine assists and six steals, becoming the first Big 12 player with at least those totals in each category since 2001. On Sunday, she had 19 points, eight rebounds and seven assists in a win at West Virginia.
