Three Big 12 Teams On No. 2 Seed Line in NCAA Women’s Bracketology
Baylor, Iowa State and Texas represent the Big 12 on the No. 2 seed line in the latest NCAA Tournament Women’s Bracketology at ESPN, released on Friday.
The latest projected 68-team field included six Big 12 teams.
But the fact that the Bears, the Cyclones and the Longhorns are all on the No. 2 seed line is notable this late in the season. It’s also notable that, while Texas has wrapped up its season series with both Baylor and Iowa State, the Bears and Cyclones play each other on Monday in what could be a Big 12 Championship game.
Baylor and Iowa State were No. 2 seeds in Tuesday’s release of the projected 68-team field. Texas, which has won five straight games, moved up to the No. 2 seed line after its win over Kansas State on Wednesday.
The Big 12 still has six teams solidly in the field, with Kansas moving up a seed line to No. 8, despite losing to Iowa State. There are no Big 12 teams on the outside looking in.
Selection Sunday is March 13.
