Four-star linebacker Josiah Trotter has narrowed his college search down to five schools.
The No. 269 overall prospect in the 2023 class, according to the 247 Sports composite rankings, posted his top five schools to Twitter on Friday. The list included West Virginia, Penn State, Virginia Tech, Clemson, and South Carolina.
Texas A&M, Ohio State, and Notre Dame did not make the cut after being listed on Trotter’s list of top eight schools.
The 6’2, 230-pounder from St. Joseph’s Prep School in Philadelphia (PA), is coming off a season in which he recorded 114 tackles, nine TFL, 2.5 sacks, two fumble recoveries, and six passes defensed.
Trotter also comes from a family full of linebackers.
His father, Jeremiah Trotter Sr., was a four-time Pro Bowler in 12 NFL seasons with the Eagles, Redskins, and Buccaneers from 1998-2009.
Josiah’s older brother, Jeremiah Trotter Jr., is a five-star linebacker who signed with Clemson in their 2021 class.
Josiah Trotter is expected to visit West Virginia on March 4 and will likely have other spring visits over the next few months, according to On3’s Mike Singer.
