Baylor, Iowa State On No. 2 Seed Line in NCAA Women’s Bracketology

Baylor and Iowa State are the two Big 12 teams on the No. 2 seed line in the latest NCAA Tournament Women’s Bracketology at ESPN, released on Tuesday.
The latest projected 68-team field included six Big 12 teams.
The Bears defeated the Cyclones on Monday night to claim no worse than a share of the Big 12 title and are the first team in Big 12 history to win a league title after starting the season 2-0. The Top 16 teams in the projected field reflect the NCAA Tournament Committee’s Top 16 teams, which were released on Monday.
That’s part of the reason Iowa State remained a No. 2 seed despite the loss.
Texas and Oklahoma remained in the Top 16 teams as well, with Texas emerging as a No. 3 seed and Oklahoma as a No. 4. That was a drop in seeding for the Sooners, who were a No. 3 seed in the last projected field on Friday.
Kansas and Kansas State also remained solidly in the field, though both teams have two more games this week as the regular season concludes. After that, all 10 Big 12 teams will converge on Kansas City for the Big 12 Tournament starting March 10.
Selection Sunday is March 13.
