Texas defensive lineman Keondre Coburn just signed an NIL deal with Hooters, the home of the world’s best chicken wing.
Coburn announced the new partnership on Twitter Monday afternoon to the delight of Texas fans and Hooters fans alike. He even has his own “Keondre” promo code to save you some money on your next takeout order. But, my question is, what’s the point in ordering takeout at Hooters?
Anyways, the 6-2, 346-pound defensive lineman will likely never have to buy a wing at hooters again and he certainly won’t have any problems with that.
With 38 career appearances, Coburn has started 33 games for the Longhorns, totaling 68 tackles, 11.0 tackles for loss, 4.0 sacks, and a forced fumble.
Coburn is expected to be a major part of the Texas defense in 2022 and certainly should be given his experience at the collegiate level. The biggest Achilles’ heel for Texas in 2021 was the rushing defense, which ranked 114th nationally, allowing 5.15 yards per carry and 201.6 yards per game. If Texas expects to compete for a Big 12 title in 2022, those numbers will need to come down drastically.
