Texas Remains No. 1 in D1Baseball’s Latest Top 25 Poll

The Longhorns of Texas remain atop the D1Baseball Top 25 after a 2-1 weekend at the Shriners College Classic. UT picked up wins over No. 10 Tennessee and No. 12 LSU but dropped their first game of the 2021 season to an unranked UCLA squad, 5-1.

Texas still remains the team to beat and for the most part, they have looked to be just that by piling five victories against SEC foes including a three-game sweep of the Alabama Crimson Tide.

Oklahoma State remained in the top 10, falling from fourth to No. 6 after two losses to Gonzaga this weekend. The Cowboys are set to play the Zags again on Monday and will try and get back on the winning side of the scoreboard.

Texas Tech is the next Big 12 team to make the poll at No. 17, up two spots from last week. The Red Raiders are currently 10-2 and in the middle of a nine-game winning streak. A date with Mississippi State in Biloxi, MS, will help determine which direction this team will head as their schedule get tougher.

TCU took the biggest fall in the Big 12 this week, tumbling from No. 16 to 21st after losing two of three to Kentucky. They have a game against Louisville on Tuesday and then a three-game series against Army.
