Look: Lane Kiffin Reacts to Lincoln Riley’s $17.2M Home

NCAA Football: Mississippi at Tennessee

If you missed it yesterday, Lincoln Riley’s new house, or castle rather, went viral on Twitter as the $17.2 million oceanfront estate is downright ridiculous.

The 13,000-square-foot home comes complete with seven bedrooms, a whopping 12 bathrooms, a five-car garage, and seven fireplaces.

If looking through the house and finding a new room for two weeks isn’t entertaining enough, the house also has a movie theater, a tennis course, putting green, sauna and steam rooms, and a 600-bottle wine cellar. Plus, if Riley doesn’t have room for guests to stay in the house with him, there’s a 790-square-foot guesthouse.

One has to wonder what the property taxes on a house like that would cost. Hell, even Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin, is curious if Riley is aware of what taxes are like in California.

Riley will pay the maximum of 13.3% income tax in California, compared to the max of 4.75% in Oklahoma and that’s just income taxes. Lincoln Riley’s contract details haven’t been released, but if he makes $7.6M (what he made at Oklahoma in 2021) in 2022, he will pay $1,010,800 in taxes, compared to $361,000 in Oklahoma.

Of course, when you can buy a house with seven fireplaces, I’m not sure that you really care about how much you’re paying in taxes. To each their own, I suppose.
