West Virginia Lands Three-Star CB Josiah Jackson

NCAA Football: Kansas State at West Virginia

Josiah Jackson, a three-star cornerback from Fairfield, Ohio has announced his commitment to West Virginia for the 2023 recruiting class.

Listed at 6-1, 175-pounds, Jackson is rated as the 55th corner in the ’23 class and the 20th-ranked player in the state of Ohio.

Jackson chose West Virginia over Boston College, Bowling Green, Cincinnati, Indiana, Iowa State, Miami (OH), Toledo, and Vanderbilt.

“This means a lot to me to commit today,” Jackson told WV Sports Now. “I made the decision to commit early because the day I first visited West Virginia it felt like this was the school for me. What stood out to me about West Virginia from the other schools that were recruiting me was just the family-oriented environment and just the scheme of their defense. It fits perfect for me and also my family is in love with the program.

“I believe the strengths of my game is my versatility to play more than one position in the backend and I am a playmaker so I’m good at making plays on the ball and they see me at corner at West Virginia.”

Jackson is the fourth commitment for the Mountaineers in 2023, a class that currently ranks fifth in the Big 12 and 36th nationally.
