Look: Oklahoma Fans No-Showed to NIT Basketball Opener

The Oklahoma Sooners won their first round match up in the NIT against Missouri State, 89-72, however there weren’t many OU fans who caught the action.

Multiple pictures emerged of the crowd, or lack thereof, from Norman, and it’s even more than I would have guessed.

Here’s some shots from SI Sooners‘ John Hoover.

This was 45 minutes before tip off.

And as we got ready for tip-off, here’s what the crowd looked like.

Yikes.

I know this is the NIT and Oklahoma fans probably felt their team got shafted for an NCAA Tournament bid, despite Porter Moser’s best pitch to the committee last week, but this is weak.

It also doesn’t help Moser build a program.

We all know that Oklahoma fans are more interested in spring football and learning about the third string kicker over the basketball team, but these guys are worthy of some support too? As Moser builds the program, and I firmly believe he’s going to do a great job at OU, showing some support from the fans and student section would go a long way for the current group as they try to cap the 2021-22 season on a high note.
