Texas Puts ‘All Its Marbles’ in on Arch Manning as 2023 QB Target

Five-star New Orleans (La.) Isidore Newman quarterback Arch Manning has everyone jumping for their opportunity at landing the legacy signal-caller, and Texas is right in the thick of the race.

According to Steve Wiltfong of 247Sports, Texas has “put all its marbles in the Manning basket.”

Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Texas, LSU, and Ole Miss all have their hats in the ring at this point in time and Manning is expected to take several visits this spring, including a trip in Athens, Ga. right now and a visit to Austin, Texas this weekend.

Steve Sarkisian is all-in on Manning, as his staff has yet to extend an offer to another quarterback in the class of 2023, including the top signal-caller in the state of Texas, Jackson Arnold, who is committed to the Longhorns’ arch-rival Oklahoma.

If UT is unable to land Manning, they have quite the insurance policy with Quinn Ewers and Maalik Murphy on the roster, allowing them to survive the 2023 gap and pursue another option in 2024. In fact, the Longhorns are already after 2024 five-star Dylan Raiola, the No. 3 quarterback in his class.

The “favorites” to win this race right now are Alabama, Georgia, Texas, and Ole Miss; which means it’s really anyone’s race.
