Baylor Guard Kendall Brown Declares for 2022 NBA Draft

NCAA Basketball: Alcorn State at Baylor

Baylor guard Kendall Brown has declared for the 2022 NBA draft after just one season with the Bears. In 34 starts, Brown averages 9.7 points per game, shooting 58.4% from the field, and added 4.9 rebounds, 1.9 assists, and 1.0 steals per game.

Brown is widely considered a first-round pick by several outlets, including The Athletic who has Brown listed as the No. 15 pick on their latest NBA Draft Big Board.

“After taking time speaking with my family and with my coaches, I have decided I will be entering my name into the 2022 NBA Draft,” Brown wrote on Twitter. “I have always dreamt of playing in the NBA and I want to do everything I can to make that dream a reality this spring and summer.”

Brown was a huge part of the Bears securing a No. 1 seed in the NCAA tournament; a run that was cut short by eight-seed North Carolina who made a run all the way to the Final Four and will face Duke for the first time ever in NCAA tournament history.

Brown’s departure is something that Baylor has been prepared for all season and will return good depth in the backcourt to help offset the loss. However, don’t be surprised if Scott Drew dips into the Transfer Portal to pick up a piece or two to fit his scheme.
