Another scholarship player from Kansas State has decided that they will not be playing for Jerome Tang, as forward Seryee Lewis has entered his name into the NCAA Transfer Portal.
The 6-9 sophomore is the lastest of three players to enter the portal, following guards Selton Miguel and All-Big 12 selection Nijel Pack, Lewis’s roommate at Kansas State.
The mass exodus in Manhattan has left the Wildcats with just six returning scholarship players for 2022-23: Davion Bradford, Maximus Edwards, Kaosi Ezeagu, Logan Landers, Ismael Massoud, and Markquis Nowell.
It appears that Jerome Tang will need to hit the transfer portal hard this offseason to offset some of the losses from last year’s squad.
Lewis missed the entire 2021-22 season after tearing his ACL prior to preseason practices starting up. Before that, the Chicago native scored 36 points in 96 minutes for the Wildcats in 2020-21.
Lewis was a three-star recruit in the 2020 class and was a great pick-up for former head coach Bruce Weber. Among the other schools to offer Lewis were Georgetown, Saint Louis, Yale, Illinois, and Wisconsin.
