Texas football has started its spring practice and we may have gotten a glimpse to the future with this great pitch and catch from quarterback Quinn Ewers to wide receiver Casey Cain.
Here’s a slow-motion look at the throw and catch from the Texas Football Twitter account.
All Texas fans are familiar and staking their future hopes and dreams on former five-star QB Quinn Ewers, who transferred in from Ohio State this offseason. Ewers, a product of Southlake Carroll, Texas, was likely enticed by head coach Steve Sarkisian’s offensive acumen and his 2020 development of Mac Jones with Alabama, who became a first round NFL Draft pick and is now the starting QB of the New England Patriots.
But Cain is a less-known commodity. He was a three-star wide receiver in the 2021 Class out of New Orleans, LA and was ranked as a Top 25 player in the state of Louisiana. He was a three-sport athlete in football, basketball and track and field. He did not play in 2021, but if this is any indication, Cain may be a familiar name to Texas fans before long.
