Oklahoma Center Rick Issanza Follows Harkless into Transfer Portal

Oklahoma basketball has lost its second player of the day in center Rick Issanza, as the 7-foot-1 big man entered his name into the NCAA Transfer Portal just hours after Elijah Harkless did the same.

Issanza was a member of Oklahoma’s 2019 signing class and spent two years with the Sooners seeing limited time on the floor after redshirting his freshman year.

The lone start of his career came against Kansas State this season when he recorded one rebound and one assist. In his career at OU, Issanza appeared in 17 games, averaging just over four minutes per appearance, and scored a total of 12 points with 19 rebounds, three blocks, one steal, and one assist.

Issanza is the fourth player for the Sooners to hit the transfer portal this spring, following Harkless, freshman guard Alston Mason, and junior forward Akol Mawein.

In addition to those four Oklahoma will also lose Jordan Goldwire, Marvin Johnson, and Ethan Chargois to graduation, bringing the total number of players that will need to be replaced to seven.

Its still April and there is a lot of time left, but it appears that Porter Moser has his work cut out for him yet again this offseason.
