Baylor Freshman Jeremy Sochan Hires Agent, Enters 2022 NBA Draft

NCAA Basketball: Kansas at Baylor

The reigning Big 12 Sixth Man of the Year will not return to Baylor next season, as freshman forward Jeremy Sochan has announced that he has hired an agent and declared for the 2022 NBA Draft.

“I am fortunate enough to be declaring for the 2022 NBA draft,” Sochan told ESPN.

According to ESPN, Sochan has decided to sign with Jim Tanner and Deirunas Visockas of Tandem Sports.

Sochan was also an All-Big 12 honorable mention and All-Big 12 Freshman selection after averaging 9.4 points, 6.4 rebounds, and 1.8 assists on an average of 25 minutes per game in 2021-22.

Perhaps Sochan’s most valuable asset was his versatility as a defender, where his toughness and energy showed nearly every time he touched the floor.

He was a major part of the Bears compiling a 27-7 record and a No. 1 Seed in the 2022 NCAA Tournament, despite several injuries on the squad that likely limited the Bears run in March.

“This season had a lot of ups and downs,” Sochan said. “We were unlucky with injuries, but it was a great opportunity for me to grow and an opportunity to show the NBA my toughness and versatility on both ends. I came into this season with intentions to make myself better and help the team win.”
