Alabama wideout Agiye Hall has decided to reunite with his former offensive coordinator, Steve Sarkisian, as he has announced that he will transfer to Texas ahead of the 2022 season.
Hall was a star in Alabama’s spring game last season and gave Crimson Tide fans a glimpse of what he could be, but fell behind All-SEC selections John Metchie III and Jameson Williams on the depth chart.
Agiye recorded just four catches for 72 yards in his lone season in Tuscaloosa before being suspended by Nick Saban earlier this month for violating team rules. He then entered the NCAA Transfer Portal and will now suit up in Burnt Orange next season.
Adding a top-50 prospect from the 2021 class to a wide receiver room that already has Xavier Worthy, Jordan Whittington, and Wyoming transfer Isaiah Neyor makes this room as good as any in the country.
Hall, a native of Valrico, Florida, is listed at 6-3, 195 pounds, and has the speed/size combination to give opposing defenders issues. It will be interesting to see how he fits into the pecking order for targets with a crowded offensive lineup that is leaking with talent.
Agiye Hall and the Longhorns will face his former team in Week 2 of the 2022 season, as UT will host the Alabama Crimson Tide. As 247Sports’ Chris Hummer points out, There are several pieces to the Texas roster and coaching staff that will be facing a familiar foe.
That game will be a litmus test for Sarkisian’s squad going into the year, but with the talent that Texas and Alabama have on the offensive side of the ball, I think it’s safe to say that there will be points scored, and in bunches.
