Four-Star DE Avion Carter Lists All Big 12 Teams in Final Four

NCAA Football: Texas Christian at Baylor

Four-star defensive end Avion Carter has quite the offer list, including schools like Oklahoma, USC, Texas A&M, Notre Dame, LSU, and Baylor.

However, none of those schools made the cut for the talented 2023 edge rusher. Instead, the list has been narrowed down to four schools and all of them are from the Big 12 conference: Texas, Texas Tech, TCU, and Oklahoma State.

According to On3’s Recruiting Prediction Machine, Carter is currently favored to land with the Red Raiders (31.9%), but Oklahoma State (27.9%) and Texas (23.9%) arent far behind in the race.

Over his last two seasons with Tascosa High School in Amarillo (TX), Carter has collected 122 tackles, 33 tackles for loss, 18 sacks, two pass breakups, and one fumble recovery. That kind of production explains the impressive offer list, especially when you consider that he still has one year of high school remaining to develop and hone his skills.

Carter is a Top 100 player in 247Sports’ composite rating (0.9573) and is considered the 12th-ranked defensive lineman in the 2023 class. His offer list is likely to grow even more as the year moves along, but narrowing the list down to four at this point feels like he already has an idea of where he wants to go, but only time will tell if that holds up.
