The Oklahoma State Cowboys have beefed up the backfield with the addition of Texas A&M running back Deondre Jackson via the transfer portal.

Jackson made the announcement on his Twitter page on Thursday afternoon.

Jackson played in five games the past two seasons at A&M, with just three carries for 13 yards.

At 5’11”, 215 pounds, Jackson is a former three-star prospect, according to 247Sports, and picked Texas A&M out of high school over Alabama, Auburn, Ohio State, Tennessee, Florida, and several others.

Jackson enters a running back room that lost its star in Jaylen Warren, and now the unit is fairly inexperienced. Dominic Richardson leads the way, with talented players like Jaden Nixon, C.J. Brown and Ollie Gordon looking for playing time as well.

Oklahoma State wrapped up its spring practice two weeks ago as they look to repeat their stellar 2021 season that saw the Pokes come within one yard of winning the Big 12 Championship Game.
