Former Top Missouri Recruit Javian Hester Transferring to Oklahoma

The Oklahoma Sooners beefed up the wide receiving corps via the transfer portal on Wednesday when Javian Hester announced he would be heading back to his home state.

Hester made the announcement on Twitter.

 

Hester was was the top recruit in Missouri’s 2020 class, which was led by former head coach Barry Odom. The 6-foot-3 redshirt sophomore played in 13 games for the Tigers last season with 12 catches for 225 yards and two touchdowns.

Coming out of Booker T. Washington High School in Oklahoma, 247Sports had Hester rated as a four-star prospect. He had offers from Georgia, Ohio State, Michigan and Texas, before ultimately choosing Missouri.

The wide receiver joins a unit that is looking for talent and depth coming out of spring practice.

Hester is the second transfer commitment for the Sooners this week, along with former Pittsburgh quarterback Davis Beville, who made his announcement on Monday.
