Jalen Wilson Earns Promotion to NBA Scouting Combine

NCAA Basketball: West Virginia at Kansas

Jalen Wilson will join Kansas teammates Ochai Agbaji and Christian Braun at the NBA Scouting Combine this week.

Wilson earned a promotion to the NBA Scouting Combine after his stellar play in the NBA G League Elite Camp, which was also held this week.

He was the second Big 12 player in as many days to earn a promotion.

Texas Tech’s Bryson Williams reportedly earned an invite to the Combine, thanks to his play in the same camp.

The NBA also announced the Combine teams for later this week, which are five-on-five scrimmages.

Williams will be on Team Johnson where he joins Braun. Wilson will join Baylor’s Matthew Mayer on Team Weaver.

Wilson averaged 11.1 points and 7.4 rebounds for Kansas last season and declared for the NBA Draft but retained his eligibility. Along with the workouts this week, Wilson has reportedly had a workout with the San Antonio Spurs.

Williams averaged 14.1 points and 4.2 rebounds per game for the Red Raiders last season, his only season in Lubbock.

It’s already been an eventful week for the NBA. The Orlando Magic have the No. 1 overall selection as a result of the NBA Draft Lottery. Four Big 12 players — Agbaji, Braun, Baylor’s Jeremy Sochan and Baylor’s Kendall Brown — were in a first-round mock draft after the lottery.

The NBA Draft will be June 23. Players that entered the NBA Draft but retained eligibility — like Wilson, Mayer Braun — must make a decision on their college return by June 1.
