Jocelyn Alo Wins 2022 USA Softball Player of the Year Award

Jocelyn Alo has been named the nation’s best player for a second straight season. Alo won the 2022 USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year award on Tuesday night.
Alo beat out South Florida pitcher Georgina Corrick and Washington infielder Baylee Klingler for the honor.
Alo currently has 117 career home runs and 29 this season while ranking second in the country with a .497 batting average. She’s also tops in the nation in slugging percentage (1.163) and first in on-base percentage (.634). She is also tied for the team lead with 72 RBIs.
This all comes in a season where Alo went nearly eight games in a row where she was intentionally walked.
Alo continues to rack up he awards as she was named the Big 12 Player of the Year, and was named to the All-Big 12 First Team for the fourth time in her career.
Alo is only the second Sooner ever take home the award following Keilani Ricketts in 2012 and 2013 and becomes the fifth player all time to win the award in back-to-back seasons.
The Sooners are the No. 1 seed heading into this week’s Women’s College World Series and will face No. 9 Northwestern at 1:30 p.m.
