The Baylor Bears got some good news on the recruiting trail over the weekend as they picked up a commitment from 2023 defensive lineman Trent Thomas.
Thomas, a three-star recruit from Missouri City, Texas, is a Top 150 player from the Lone Star State in the 2023 class, and standing at 6-3, 235 pounds, has a nice frame to build on.
Thomas chose the Bears over several other Division I offers, including Boston College, Colorado, Houston, Louisiana, and Memphis among others.
Thomas committed to Baylor on Sunday afternoon, using a Twitter post to announce his decision.
With Thomas’s commitment, the Bears now have 12 commitments in their 2023 class, which now ranks 13th nationally, according to Rivals.
That means that Baylor’s 2023 class ranks second in the Big 12 at this point, behind only Texas Tech, who has cultivated the second-best class in the country as things currently stand.
There is still a long way to go in this recruiting cycle and a lot of things will likely change before we cross the finish line, but the Bears have a great shot at building a class the will remain in the Top 25 when all is said and done.
