Iowa State Adds Another In-State Three-Star Prospect Kooper Ebel

NCAA Football: Fiesta Bowl-Oregon vs Iowa State

Iowa State kept the momentum going on the recruiting trail on Monday, as they added their second in-state three-star recruit of the day with Kooper Ebel pledging to the Cyclones.

Ebel, a native of Hartley, Iowa, is listed as the 11th-best athlete in the 2023 class from the state of Iowa. At 6-3, 200-pounds, he possesses a promising frame as a linebacker in Iowa State’s defensive scheme.

Ebel chose Iowa State over in-state rival Iowa, plus several other offers that included Nebraska, Northern Iowa, Vanderbilt, and South Dakota.

Iowa State’s newest addition announced his decision via Twitter on Monday evening to the delight of Cyclone Nation.

The Cyclones have a lot to be happy about over the last 24 hours, as Matt Campbell and Co. have been busy on the trail. ISU added another important in-state target on Monday in Jamison Patton. Patton is listed as the No. 4 player in the state of Iowa for this cycle, and will likely be joining Ebel on the defensive side of the ball.

Ebel’s commitment brings Iowa State’s total to 10, elevating them to the No. 19 class in the country and the fourth-best in the Big 12 currently, behind Texas Tech (2), Baylor (13), and TCU (17).
