After struggling with off-court issues in the past, former Kansas State star Michael Beasley recently made his return to the court in the form of BIG3 basketball, a 3-on-3 league featuring former NBA players and international players.
In his debut over the weekend, Beasley lit it up with 26 points to help 3’s Company take a 50-47 win over Bivouc. Although he hasn’t played in the NBA since 2019, Beasley’s skillset looked sharp and refined as ever, bringing “what if” to everyone’s mind that watched him do his thing.
In his postgame interview, Beasley had a simple response after the on-court reporter said that his 26-point performance looked “that easy” against BIG3 competition.
It’s hard to argue with the former second overall pick in the 2008 NBA Draft, because everything he did looked effortless, and it shows up in the highlight reels.
In his NBA career, which spanned 11 season, Beasley averaged 12.4 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 1.3 assists per game and shot .465 from the field over 609 games played.
Clearly, the veteran still has some left in the tank, and that’s bad news for the rest of the BIG3, who might just be better off getting out of B-Easy’s way.
