The Baylor Bears landed a five-star basketball prospect on Wednesday when Ja’Kobe Walter announced his commit to the program.
Here was his tweet making the commitment official.
He picked Baylor over over Texas, Alabama and Auburn.
Walter averaged 23 points and 8 rebounds for McKinney High School in leading them to the state championship game, which they lost. In seven games on the AAU circuit, he is averaging 23 points per game, 4 rebounds per game and 3 assists per game.
According to 247Sports, Walter is the No. 1 shooting guard in the country, No. 2 player in Missouri and a Top 20 player nationally.
He plans to play his senior year at Link Academy in Branson, Missouri where he will compete on the NIBC circuit. As SicEm365 notes, this is he same circuit where Baylor freshman Keyonte George showcased his skills for IMG Academy this past season.
Baylor currently has the No. 13 class in the country for 2023, as Walter is the second commit, joining Miro Little.
