Texas Tech Lands 2023 Three-Star CB Marquez Stevenson

Texas Tech added to its impressive 2023 haul on Monday as the Red Raiders secured a commitment from three-star cornerback Marquez Stevenson.
Stevenson, a 6-2, 170 pound multisport athlete out of Shreveport, Louisiana is listed as a three-star prospect by Rivals and has a Rivals Rating of 5.6.
The talented skill player chose the Red Raiders over six other offers, including Indiana, Mississippi State, Grambling State, New Mexico State, and Sam Houston State.
Stevenson will remain a two-sport athlete at the next level, as he will not only play football for the Red Raiders, but will also be a member of Texas Tech’s Track and Field program.
Stevenson’s commitment gives the Red Raiders a whopping 22 for the upcoming recruiting class, one that now ranks eighth nationally as other schools start to fill their rosters.
Texas’ run to the No. 5 spot this weekend gives them the top spot in the Big 12 for now, while Texas Tech’s class is still firmly second in the conference.
Since Joey McGuire took over the program in Lubbock, the recruiting world has had a different buzz about it when Tech is the topic of conversation, and with how well McGuire recruits the Lone Star State and the surrounding areas, it will likely stay that way for the foreseeable future.
