The Oklahoma Sooners have caught fire on the recruiting trail over the last seven days and kept that trend rolling on Sunday as they landed 2023 EDGE Adepoju Adebawore, or PJ Adebawore for short.
Adebawore, listed at 6-4, 225 pounds, is rated as a four-star recruit and the No. 12 EDGE and Top 100 player, according to the 247Sports composite.
Here is the tweet shared from Adebawore to make his announcement.
He picked the Sooners over Arkansas, Northwestern, Florida State, Missouri and several other programs. Adebawore’s brother plays at Northwestern and Missouri is right down the road in his home state. His commitment continues to prove that Brent Venables’ defensive mind is working on the recruiting trail landing top prospects on that side of the ball that had alluded Oklahoma in recent years under Lincoln Riley.
Adepoju Adebawore played his high school ball at North Kansas City High School and joins another Kansas City area native in Lee’s Summit North offensive tackle Cayden Green who committed to Oklahoma on Friday.
