TCU Releases Men’s Non-Conference Basketball Schedule

NCAA Basketball: Northwestern State at Texas Christian

The TCU men’s basketball team will play plenty of non-conference home games during its  2022-23 schedule, which was released last weekend.

The Horned Frogs are coming off a 2021-22 in which they won a NCAA Tournament game for the first time since 1987 and nearly upset Arizona in the second round before falling in overtime.

TCU will open the season at home against Arkansas-Pine Bluff on Nov. 7, followed by three more home games in seven days — Lamar on Nov. 11, Northwestern State on Nov. 14 and ULM on Nov. 17.

The Horned Frogs then play in their only non-conference tournament of the season, which is the Emerald Coast Classic in Niceville, Fla., from Nov. 25-26. TCU will open with California on Nov. 25, and will face either Clemson or Iowa, depending upon how the Horned Frogs do against the Bears.

TCU gets in one more home game in November, as they host Providence in the Big 12/BIG EAST Battle on Nov. 30. The Friars won the BIG EAST Conference last season.

The Horned Frogs have a light schedule in December, with a home game against Jackson State on Dec. 6 and a home game against Mississippi Valley State on Dec. 18.

TCU and Utah face each other in a neutral-site game at Vivant Arena in Salt Lake City on Dec. 21. The pair face each other Dickies Arena last season. TCU wraps up December with a Dec. 28 home game against Central Arkansas.

The Horned Frogs’ last non-conference game is Jan. 28 at Mississippi State in the Big 12-SEC Challenge.

The 18-game Big 12 Conference schedule, including nine home games, will be announced at a later date.
