Baylor fans were sweating it out Monday night as 2023 four-star quarterback prospect Austin Novosad was going to re-announce where he would be playing next year. And thankfully for the Bears, Novosad confirmed his commitment to play in Waco.

Novosad made the announcement on Twitter.

Novosad has long been a Baylor commit, but in recent weeks he decided to take other visits to Ohio State, Notre Dame, Texas A&M and others. He returned to Waco this past Saturday, which was his last visit of the process, and appears to have been the solidifying trip.

We talked to Novosad in March at the Elite 11 event in Dallas, and he expressed how much he liked Baylor head coach Dave Aranda, saying, “The part of my commitment was me loving him [Aranda] so much. He really emphasizes person over player and if you talk to any guy on the Baylor football team, they are going to be a great person before they are a great player and they show that in their game.”

247Sports lists Novosad as the nation’s No. 8 quarterback and is a Top 100 prospect overall. As a junior, the Dripping Springs, Texas native threw for 3,339 yards and 40 touchdowns.

Baylor currently has the No. 3 ranked 2023 recruiting class in the Big 12, according to 247Sports.
