K-State Football Names 2022 Season Captains

The 2022 season is literally around the corner as fall camp will wrap up this week and every Big 12 team transitions into game prep. With the approaching season comes an important ritual: the selection of team captains.
According to a tweet from Rivals’ K-State Insider Derek Young, the Kansas State Wildcats announced their team captains on Monday, with six being given the prestigious title for the 2022 season.
Newcomer Adrian Martinez makes the list after spending just an offseason with the Wildcats, although being in the position that he is, its not surprising. RB Deuce Vaughn, WR Kade Warner, and OL Cooper Beebe were also selected as offensive captains and will have major roles in how the unit performs in 2022.
The Wildcats named seniors Eli Huggins and Daniel Green as captains for the defense, with Huggins set to start at nose guard and Green at linebacker. Having captains that are also some of your best and most experienced players helps hold the team accountable, so all of these selections aren’t surprising.
Kansas State is set to kick off their 2022 season against South Dakota on September 3 at 6:00 p.m. CT.
