Big 12 Conference Announces Week 4 Kick Off Times

NCAA Football: Western Kentucky at Wisconsin

The Big 12 has released its kick off times and television schedule for the Week 4 Big 12 football action, which includes the first full slate of mostly conference action.

Here’s a look at what’s on the schedule for the one Thursday, September 22nd and the multiple games on Saturday, September 24th.

Thursday, September 22nd

West Virginia at Virginia Tech, 6:30 p.m. on ESPN

Saturday, September 24th

Iowa State vs. Baylor, 11:00 a.m. on ESPN2 or ESPNU (decision after 9/17 games)

Kansas vs. Duke, 11:00 a.m. on Fox Sports 1

TCU at SMU, 11:00 a.m. on ESPN2 or ESPNU (decision after 9/17 games)

Texas Tech vs. Texas, 2:30 p.m. on ABC or ESPN (decision after 9/17 games)

Oklahoma vs. Kansas State, 7:00 p.m./ on FOX

*All Times Listed in CST

I understand Texas gets an enormous amount of eye balls and will get more prime time attention than other Big 12 teams and games, but arguably the best game of the weekend is Iowa State vs. Baylor, and it feels like a disservice to have this game kick off at 11:00 a.m. on a mediocre ESPN channel. But I’m come to accept that from ESPN.

But we will learn so much about Oklahoma and Kansas State in their match up next weekend as well. If K-State is to be a serious contender in the Big 12, they’ll have to have a strong performance next week. And given Oklahoma may have the weakest non-conference schedule in the Big 12, it will be their first big test as well.

Conference play is right around the corner, and I for one cannot wait.
