Big 12 Football Week 3 Opening Lines Announced

Las Vegas Sports Betting Board

After putting a bow on a crazy Week 2 of the 2022 college football season, we set our sights on Week 3 which should provide us with some less desirable matchups from top-to-bottom, but more potential for chaos as several teams in the Big 12 will play lower-tier opponents this week.

That will lead to several interesting betting lines this week, and oddsmakers have released the opening lines, courtesy of BetOnline.

Perhaps the marquee game of the weekend in the Big 12 will be played in a former Big 12 city, as the sixth-ranked Oklahoma Sooners head up to Lincoln, Nebraska to take on the Scott Frost-less Cornhuskers. Oklahoma enters the week as a 14.5-point favorite over the 1-2 Cornhuskers, but that game feels awfully tricky for an Oklahoma team that struggled to move the ball against Kent State in the first half.

Another Big 12 team on the road this week will be Texas Tech, who is tasked with heading to Raleigh, North Carolina to take on No. 16 NC State. Oddsmakers like the Wolfpack in this one as Texas Tech opened up as a 10-point underdog on the road.

The 2-0 Kansas Jayhawks will hit the road for a second consecutive week as they head to Houston to take on Dana Holgorsen and the Cougars. The future Big 12 battle has Houston as the favorite, with a 9-point advantage being given to the home team.

No. 21 Texas will host UTSA this weekend with several players banged up after their clash with Alabama. Among those names is starting QB Quinn Ewers who will be out for 4-6 weeks with an SC sprain. That, along with a surging UTSA program, makes this game much closer than people would think at first glance, with Texas being seen as a 13.5-point favorite on Saturday.

Take a look at all of the lines for the Big 12 this week, courtesy of BetOnline.

  • Tulane at Kansas State (-16.5)
  • Kansas at Houston (-9)

  • UTSA at Texas (-13.5)
  • Arkansas-Pine Bluff at Oklahoma State (NO LINE)
