Baylor freshman Richard Reese has been quite a pleasant surprise for Baylor fans in 2022, as the 5-9, 175-pound running back has turned 72 rushing attempts into 400 yards (5.6 ypc) and seven touchdowns on the year.
His presence in the Baylor backfield has helped ease the loss of Abram Smith and Trestan Ebner from a season ago, and it has also garnered some attention. However, during the BYE week, Reese joined another team: Team Reese.
Reese’s, the world-famous peanut butter cup company, has put together an NIL team consisting of players with the last name “Reese,” and Baylor’s Richard Reese is their feature back.
As a part of the NIL deal, Reese will receive a “Reese’s Reese” gold chain and pendant, Reese’s “cup” (cuff) links, and a Reese’s mini fridge for his locker.
This is certainly one of my favorite NIL deals to date, and I’m sure Reese is happy about it as well.
Reese and the Bears are taking the week to regroup and get healthy coming off a home loss to Oklahoma State. They will try to rebound on the road in Morgantown next Thursday as Baylor will take on West Virginia in a Big 12 midweek battle.
