Watch: Gary Patterson Caught on Hot Mic After Texas Game Asking About TCU vs. Kansas

The Texas Longhorns smashed the Oklahoma Sooners on Saturday in their most lopsided win in Red River Rivalry history, but for some, their minds weren’t only in Dallas, but up I-35 in Lawrence, Kansas.
That’s where TCU was playing Kansas in a battle between undefeated teams in the Big 12. And former TCU head coach Gary Patterson, who is now a defensive assistant at Texas, was caught on a hot mic after the Red River Rivalry asking someone about the score of the TCU vs. Kansas game.
Here’s the video.
You can’t help but respect Coach P, who wore the TCU purple on the sidelines for two decades before a parting of ways last October. And clearly, despite the fact that things didn’t end great in Fort Worth, he still cares about the team and his former players.
Of course, TCU would go on to beat the Jayhawks 38-31 to remain undefeated and move up to No. 13 in the latest AP Poll.
The Longhorns are set to welcome in 3-3 Iowa State next week, while TCU hosts Oklahoma State in another battle of unbeaten Big 12 teams.
And for those wondering, Texas welcomes in TCU for a match up on November 12th.
