The Texas Longhorns have the highest KenPom rating in the Big 12 and are rated No. 2 nationally going into the 2022-23 season.
The Big 12 will hold its men’s media day on Wednesday in Kansas City. The regular season is set to start next month.
The KenPom ratings, produced by Ken Pomeroy, taking a variety of data into account to produce computer ratings throughout the season and are updated daily.
Kentucky, out of the SEC, is the only team with a better KenPom rating (+29.77) than Texas (+28.40).
All 10 of the Big 12’s teams are in the Top 80 in the country, with seven of them in the Top 30.
After Texas are the last two national champions — Baylor at No. 6 and Kansas at No. 8. The Bears won the 2021 crown and the Jayhawks won the 2022 crown.
Outside the Top 10 are TCU (No. 16) and Texas Tech (No. 17). TCU reached the second round of the NCAA Tournament while Texas Tech reached the Sweet 16.
After that are Oklahoma at No. 28 and Oklahoma State at No. 30.
The three Big 12 teams outside the Top 30 are Iowa State (No. 62), West Virginia (No. 73) and Kansas State (No. 77). Iowa State made last year’s NCAA Sweet 16.

The Big 12 coaches picked Baylor as the favorite to win the conference. But, Kansas and Texas both received first-place votes.
