Colts to Start Sam Ehlinger for Rest of 2022 Season

The Indianapolis Colts are making a change at quarterback following an underwhelming start to the 2022 season and now turn to former Texas Longhorn quarterback, Sam Ehlinger.
This update comes from head coach Frank Reich following the Colts week seven loss to the Titans. Ehlinger will start in place of the injured Matt Ryan, and continue as the team’s starter for the duration of the season.
In fact, it appears that Ehlinger would’ve gotten the start over Ryan whether he was injured or not this week, according to reports. So, the face of the Colts’ franchise, at least for the rest of 2022, will be a familiar face for fans of Texas and the Big 12 as a whole.
Frank Reich went on to say, “Excited for Sam and the opportunity this presents for him. We’ve always thought from Day 1 that Sam had some kind of special sauce. He’s continued to show it. I’ve been particularly impressed with Sam this year in practice.”
The Colts will need solid play from Ehlinger if they want to remain in the hunt for the AFC South title, but for now, all eyes are on Ehlinger.
